aiPotu (NO)

aiPotu is collaboration between the artists Anders Kjellesvik (N) and Andreas Siqueland (N). We met at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 2004 and have since been working together making travel related projects. Our work is of a social and / or sculptural nature, which often take the form of temporary interventions in the public space. We work locally with the materials, structures and people that we encounter along the way. The interventions are situation specific and never to be repeated.

aiPotu began with the purchase of an old truck that had been converted into a mobile home. The car was our home, means of transport and exhibition space on a series of expeditions from 2004 - 2007. The first one was Tour of Europe where a number eight drawn on the European map served as our route, followed up by a Nordic Tour (Norway, Sweden, Finland) and a Polar Expedition to the North of Norway.

Many of our projects, although realized on the mainland, have often been concerned with the idea of an island; a closed, isolated and independent environment. In 2007 we decided to go on an Island Tour; to discover and connect different island communities; making work on one island that could be shown on the next. In addition to a series of smaller island related events, we have travelled to Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Cookatoo Island (Australia) and the British Isles.
